Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Pharmacist Intern for their Athol store. The purpose of this Internship is to equip learners to understand the underlying principles of all of the major areas related to the pharmaceutical environment and promoting the notion of quality lifelong learning.The provision of pharmaceutical care by taking responsibility for the patients medicine related needs and being accountable for meeting these needs.To provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in manufacturing non-sterile or sterile medicines according to approved formulas and procedures
• Re-package medicines
• Distribute and control stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 6 medicines or scheduled substances
• Order medicines and scheduled substances up to Schedule 6, as instructed
• Read and prepare prescriptions, label, and supply medicines based on pharmacist interpretation
• Provide instructions on the correct use of supplied medicines
• Promote health by providing relevant information to individuals
• Provide services under supervision for educational and training purposes
• Accurately interpret scripts and ensure compliance with legal requirements
• Capture and verify patient and script details in the system
• Ensure accurate medication picking, packing, labeling, and awareness of drug interactions

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric
• BPharm - 4 year
• Computer literate – MS Office
